With EVLB, the varicose vein in the thigh or calf is closed with the help of a laser. Under ultrasound guidance, the varicose vein is punctured at the height of the knee (if we are treating the thigh) or at the bottom of the calf (if we are treating the calf). A laser wire is pushed into the vein through this access. The correct position of the laser wire is determined by ultrasound. The vein is anesthetized and then cauterized with the heat of the laser light by slowly withdrawing the wire. As a result, the vein wall shrinks and the varicose vein closes.
After the treatment you will be given an elastic compression stocking that you will wear for 36 hours. We already have the stocking ready for you.
