Mommy makeover in short
Pregnancy or weight loss often cause permanent changes to the body. A mommy makeover is a combined surgery that corrects these changes and restores your contours. The procedure may consist of a tummy tuck (to remove excess skin and rebuild abdominal muscles), a breast lift (a lift, augmentation, or reduction), and possibly additional treatments such as liposuction. The combination that is best for you will be carefully discussed with the plastic surgeon during your consultation.
The results of a mommy makeover depend on the procedure. While plastic surgeons strive for perfection, this isn't always achievable. After all, every body is different. Keep in mind that it can take up to a year for the final result to be visible. Scars, in particular, are fiery initially and need sufficient time to heal completely.

1. Consult
The first step is a no-obligation consultation. During this consultation, we'll determine whether a mommy makeover is the right procedure for your specific situation and wishes. A mommy makeover is a comprehensive procedure, so it's important that you're in good health and that you clearly define your wishes. The plastic surgeon will then assess whether this procedure can meet your needs. During this consultation, there's room for all your questions, wishes, and concerns.
2. Operation
A mommy makeover is performed under general anesthesia and takes between 2 and 5 hours, depending on the procedures chosen. The plastic surgeon will first mark the treatment area. This also provides an opportunity to ask any final questions. You will then be taken to the operating room, where the anesthesiologist will administer the anesthetic. The plastic surgeon will perform a combination of breast surgery and a tummy tuck, with or without liposuction. You will stay with us overnight after the surgery.
3. Aftercare
After a mommy makeover, it's important to take it easy for the first few weeks. Giving your body time to recover has a positive effect on the final result. Bed rest is recommended for the first few days after surgery. After one to two weeks, you can resume light daily activities. It's recommended to avoid heavy lifting for the first four weeks and not exercise for six weeks. Try to get enough exercise to prevent thrombosis. We will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions after surgery.
