The consequences of one or more pregnancies or significant weight loss are a weaker, stretched skin, breasts that change shape and a sagging abdomen. You are literally not feeling well and that is annoying. A mommy makeover offers a solution and ensures that your body regains its original shape.

Whether you qualify for a mommy makeover depends on your personal starting situation and wishes. Which operation is suitable will become clear during an initial consultation with the plastic surgeon. The mommy makeover is an extensive operation and it is therefore important that you are in good health. Your medical history, medication use and physical condition will be discussed during the consultation with the doctor.
If you are clearly overweight, we advise you to lose weight first and to adjust your eating habits. When the target weight is reached, the mommy makeover can be performed with a good chance of a beautiful result. If the breast augmentation is part of your operation, it will be discussed during the consultation which type of prostheses best suits your body.
Mommy Makeover: The Surgery
A mommy makeover often consists of a combination of different procedures. Think of a breast lift, breast augmentation, tummy tuck and liposuction. During the first consultation, your plastic surgeon will discuss with you which treatment best suits your needs. If possible, the treatments are performed simultaneously, during one operation. Before the operation, please report to the reception where you will be picked up by a nurse.
You will then go with the nurse to the OR complex where the plastic surgeon will mark the area to be operated on. The anesthetist will then administer the anesthetic to put you to sleep completely. After the operation, you will be taken to the recovery room to wake up peacefully. The nurse will give any pain medication. After the operation you will stay overnight in our clinic. The next morning you can go home under supervision, you are not allowed to drive yourself.
Recovery and aftercare mommy makeover
After a mommy makeover, it's important to take it easy for the first few weeks. Giving the body time to recover has a positive effect on the final result. Bed rest is recommended for the first few days after surgery. After one to two weeks you can resume light daily activities. The advice is not to lift heavy for the first 4 weeks and not to exercise for 6 weeks. Try to exercise enough to prevent thrombosis.
Before the operation, the plastic surgeon will discuss with you whether you should wear special pressure clothing to prevent swelling and promote recovery.
UV rays are not good for scars, they can therefore remain red for an unnecessarily long time. It is therefore best to keep the scars covered in the first months, this can possibly be done with a sunblock.
Are you worried about anything after the mommy makeover surgery? Don't worry, after the operation we are available 24/7 in case of emergency or urgent questions.
A mommy makeover has the result that your body contours are restored. For example, your abdomen, arms and breasts are addressed. The result of the mommy makeover depends on the treatment. Although the plastic surgeon strives for perfection, this is not always achievable. After all, every body is different. Keep in mind that it can take up to a year for the final result to be visible. Scars, in particular, are fiery in the beginning and need plenty of time to fully recover.

Risks and Complications
A mommy makover carries the same risks as any other surgery. The wound can infect, but this is rare. The greatest chance of infection is in people who have too much subcutaneous fat tissue. It is therefore important to have as normal a weight as possible before the operation. In addition, bleeding can occur.
Overweight or obesity, smoking, the use of some types of medication, and diabetes can lead to a disturbed healing of the wound and can be reasons for the surgeon to decide that the surgery cannot be carried out.
Sometimes the surgeon may choose to perform the mommy makeover in the hospital. Your plastic surgeon will always discuss this with you in advance at the outpatient clinic.
