At Aesthetic Center Jan van Goyen you can book a consultation for a breast reduction without obligation. You plan this consultation with a plastic surgeon of your choice. We work with both male and female surgeons, who are all BIG-registered. You decide which surgeon will conduct your consultation (and possible operation).
During this consultation, the plastic surgeon will ask about your complaints and wishes. He/she will also assess whether a breast reduction is the appropriate procedure to achieve the desired result. If this is the case, a personal treatment plan will be drawn up. You will then receive a quote from the consultant that is fully tailored to your situation. Are you considering a breast reduction due to physical complaints? Then you may be eligible for compensation.

What factors influence costs?
A number of factors influence the cost of breast reduction. These include:
† Extent and complexity of the intervention. The complexity and size of the operation determine the costs. As large amounts of skin, fat and glandular tissue have to be removed, this can increase the duration of the operation. The operation can also be more complex due to asymmetry or previous operations.
† Any additional treatments. Sometimes breast reduction is combined with other procedures. Such additional treatments will increase the total cost.
After a breast reduction you will always stay with us for one night overnight stay. These costs are included in your quote. On your quote you will find a specification of the costs – so you know exactly what the intervention will cost with us and how these costs are structured.
Is breast reduction reimbursed?
Breast reduction surgery may be covered if you have severe physical complaints and a medical indication exists. This means the surgery is covered by your health insurer. You are eligible if your breasts are larger than a D cup and you have neck and shoulder pain. Tell the plastic surgeon about your complaints during the consultation. They can then submit a claim to your health insurer.

Dr. Hay Winters
After completing his medical studies at the universities of Ghent and Nijmegen, Dr. Winters trained in general surgery at the Diaconessen Hospital in Eindhoven and the Sint Lucas Hospital in Amsterdam. Subsequently, he specialized in plastic surgery, and after his registration in 1994, Hay Winters focused further on complex reconstructive procedures: primarily of the face and breasts (for example, after the removal of a tumor), but also of the trunk, arms, or legs (likewise after the removal of malignant lesions or following serious accidents). Edin Hajder studied medicine at the University of Groningen, where he obtained his medical degree cum laude. He trained as a plastic surgeon at OLVG and Amsterdam UMC. He completed part of his training at the Red Cross Hospital in Beverwijk, Spaarne Gasthuis, and The Hand Clinic. About Edin Hajder, MSc: During his training, Edin Hajder served as chairman of De Jonge Specialist, the national professional association for all medical specialists in training. Dr. JG van der Meer completed her training as a plastic surgeon at Amsterdam UMC – AMC and OLVG.
