If you suffer from drooping eyelids and/or a tired look, we perform an upper eyelid correction. The excess skin of the upper eyelid and the excess fatty tissue are expertly removed by the plastic surgeon. The incision for the upper eyelid correction is made in the arcade arch and as a result the scar is barely visible after a while. We usually perform an upper eyelid correction under local anesthesia.

Treatment trajectory
The treatment process consists of three phases: the consultation, the operation and the recovery time. We will briefly tell you what you can expect in each phase.
The consultation
During an initial consultation, the plastic surgeon will assess whether your wishes regarding eyelid correction are feasible. In addition, the treatment will be discussed step by step, including the possible risks and recovery time. Photos will also be taken for your medical file and your medical history will be reviewed. The surgeon will look at your general health and any previous interventions. After this consultation, you will have a clear picture of what to expect, what the costs are and how long the recovery process will take.
The surgery
An upper eyelid correction takes place under local anesthesia and lasts approx. 30 to 45 minutes. Before the procedure, the plastic surgeon will carefully mark out which part of the skin may be removed. For an upper eyelid correction, the surgeon will then make a small incision in the skin fold of the upper eyelid. You can read more about the operation here.
Recovery after an upper eyelid correction
After the operation you can go home immediately under supervision. You are not allowed to drive yourself, have someone pick you up from the clinic.
The first week after the procedure, bruising will occur around your eyes and swelling of the eyelids may occur. For an upper eyelid correction, this will last for about seven to ten days. During the first check-up appointment, stitches will be removed. The eyelids will then still have to recover. In the first weeks after the operation, the swelling will decrease and the scars will become less and less visible. The final result of the eyelid correction will be most visible after about three months and the scars will take up to a year to fully recover. More information about the recovery time can be found here.
How much does an upper eyelid correction cost?
The cost of an upper eyelid correction varies, depending on your wishes and the complexity of the procedure. In some cases, the procedure is combined with a lower eyelid correction or eyebrow lift. During your first consultation, you will receive a personal quote, so that you know exactly what the operation will cost you. In the table below you will find an indication of the costs.
