Free consultation
The first step in any plastic surgery procedure is a free consultation with the surgeon. With us, this consultation is completely free of obligation. During the consultation, the plastic surgeon will discuss your wishes and concerns and assess whether eyelid surgery is suitable for you and whether it can achieve the desired results. A personalized treatment plan will then be developed, after which you will receive your quote. This is tailored to your needs, so you know exactly what to expect.
You can easily book this consultation via the booking form, on a date and time of your choice. You also choose which doctor will be your consultation. You can choose from both male and female plastic surgeons, who are all BIG-registered.
During this consultation, the plastic surgeon will ask about your wishes and complaints and will assess whether an eyelid correction is suitable for your initial situation and can lead to the desired result. A personal treatment plan will then be drawn up. You will then receive a quote from the consultant that is tailor-made for you.
What factors influence costs?
As you can see in the table above, the prices of eyelid corrections vary. We explain which factors have an influence.
† The type of eyelid correction. Do you suffer from excess skin on your upper eyelids? Then the doctor will advise you to have an upper eyelid correction. However, are you bothered by the skin under your eyes? Then a lower eyelid correction offers a solution. In some cases, a combination of both procedures leads to an optimal result. The types of eyelid corrections differ greatly in duration and complexity, which is why the type of eyelid correction is the biggest factor in determining the costs.
† Anesthesia (narcosis). Usually, an upper eyelid correction is performed under local anesthesia, but with a lower eyelid correction or a combination of upper and lower eyelids, the operation is performed under general anesthesia. In the case of general anesthesia, an additional charge is made.
† Any additional treatments, such as eyebrow suspension. An eyebrow suspension is a complementary treatment that is often performed in combination with an eyelid correction. When a low-hanging eyebrow leads to sagging or loose skin of the eyelids, this eyebrow can be lifted or raised. This restores the position of the eyebrow in relation to the eye and this leads to (among other things) an improved field of vision.
Immediately after your consultation with the doctor, you will receive a personal quote with a specification of the costs. This way you know exactly what the operation will cost based on your wishes and starting situation.
Is an eyelid correction reimbursed?
An eyelid correction is almost always considered a cosmetic procedure and is therefore not quickly reimbursed by health insurers. However, an eyelid correction can be reimbursed from health insurance if a number of medical conditions are met and there is a medical indication. The upper eyelid must be at least 1 millimeter for this. about the pupil hanging and obstructing the field of vision. There are more conditions to qualify for compensation.
Are you probably entitled to compensation? Consult your policy conditions and contact your health insurer. The plastic surgeon can then assess your situation and submit a request for compensation.
If you are considering eyelid correction for cosmetic reasons, your health insurer will not reimburse the operation.
