The excess skin really started to bother her, both physically and mentally. 'In my head I had already lost all those kilos, but my body kept reminding me that it was different. The surgery
The day of the surgery was exciting, but Lisa felt mostly relief. 'I couldn't wait to get rid of that annoying excess skin,' she says with a laugh. 'The surgery went smoothly and when I first saw the results, I couldn't believe my luck. I was crying and laughing at the same time! It felt like a huge burden had been lifted off me, literally and figuratively.'
A new beginning
'The recovery went faster than I expected. The first few days were a bit of an adjustment, especially because I couldn't straighten my back, but luckily I had good help from my boyfriend and mother. They made sure I could really rest, and that helped my recovery enormously, says Lisa. Now, months later, she is still happy with her decision. 'I feel lighter, more confident and now wear clothes that I didn't even dare to show myself in before. I also get a lot of compliments from people around me.'
So again
'If I had to do the surgery again, I would do it at Esthetisch Centrum Jan van Goyen. The small-scale center feels so much nicer than a hospital. Moreover, the employees and specialists are incredibly sweet and caring. They not only helped me well before and during the procedure, but I could also always contact them afterwards with questions.'

'The surgery has given me more self-confidence and helped me feel comfortable in my own body again. Where I used to cover everything, I now choose tighter clothing without any effort. A few weeks ago I was even wearing my bikini on the beach, something I never thought I would do again. That was the ultimate proof to me that I had made the right choice!'
