She came for a consultation with Dr. Paula Roossink, after which she decided to undergo the procedure with her. Jolanda talks about her experience in this article.
Impressed
Jolanda knew the work of drs. Roossink, plastic surgeon at Aesthetic Center Jan van Goyen. Jolanda: 'I often find her results very nice and that is why I requested a consultation with her. During the consultation she thought along with me. An eyelid correction was certainly possible, but she also advised me to lift one of my eyebrows slightly. That eyebrow was always a little lower, and that way the position of my eyebrows would be symmetrical again. Immediately after the appointment with Drs. Roossink, I had an appointment with consultant Jeffry. He went through the steps with me again so that I would be well prepared for the operation. What I really liked is that I felt no pressure at all. I really decided for myself whether I wanted this and if so, when.'
The surgery
Jolanda was able to have the operation within four weeks. 'This appointment was scheduled in consultation, on a day that suited me. The operation took place under local anesthesia. Dr. Roossink explained to me step by step what she was going to do, which I really enjoyed. I didn't find it exciting. My girlfriend, who had surgery on the same day, was scared. Fortunately, she said afterwards that she thought it wasn't too bad and she didn't have to worry so much. I also thought the 100% wasn't too bad. Drs. Roossink is very calm and works meticulously, which made me feel completely at ease. Afterwards I was given a bag with cooling elements for my eyes and aftercare information. It stated that I could be contacted 24/7 in case of any complications. It's a nice idea that you can always turn to someone.'
Myself again after eyelid correction
'The first three days my eyes were a little swollen, but not terribly. After seven days I felt I had somewhat regained my 'normal' face. I was surprised how quickly this went. It took another four weeks for the fluid to disappear completely, after which I was really myself again. I am extremely happy with the result. When I talk to people now, they say: You look so rested, have you been on holiday? That's a lot nicer than them saying you look tired!'
