Crossectomy or ligation

With a crossectomy treatment, the main blood vessel that causes the varicose veins is tied in the groin area or at the back of the knee and, when possible, a few centimetres of the blood vessel are then removed after which the blood in the main blood vessel can no longer flow back. This treatment is still applied when a laser, RF, or ClariVein treatment is unsuitable and the procedure can be performed under a local anaesthesia.
